Arrests and releases This weekend has seen a number of articles related to turtle and tortoise poaching. From people selling tortoise meat from a hotel and the usual smuggling of animals through airports. At least people are being arrested and the animals released back into the wild. Adopt Me! The Arizona Game and Fish Department held an adoption day on Saturday for their Gopher tortoises (Gopherus morafkai) . The event allowed pre-approved applicants to choose a tortoise to take home.
