Maps - Native Species By Region

Temporarily Down

As of mid-May, 2021, Google deprecated the API we were using as the base of these maps. These maps will return upon being rebuilt on a different system after the Turtle Taxonomy Working Group releases their next update, which is expected during the 2021 calendar year.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Notes: The counts of species in a given region only include native species; however, introduced species have been included in the species lists. Where sea turtles are concerned, we have chosen to list only those species that nest within the region. If you would like to suggest a change or update, please email us. We will need supporting data or papers to make changes.
