Couple’s Passion Turns Into Incredible Reptile Rehabilitation Operation
It all started with a little Testudo horsfieldii given to Traci years ago. Little did she know that this was only the beginning of a life-changing adventure which would prove to be the most rewarding experience of her career. Her husband Greg is equally as passionate for chelonians along with other reptiles, and his carpentry skills have set the stage for an incredible venture which continues to expand and improve into a world-class turtle an tortoise rescue facility. His expert building capabilities have transformed a suburban backyard and home into a climate controlled and precisely maintained habitat for the animals that come through their doors each and every week. Complete with a medical treatment ward, it’s not surprising that this close couple puts such dedication into this operation, since both of them struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder, and the sense of peace and fulfillment that rescuing turtles and tortoises gives them has been the most successful therapy for the pair. As Traci and Greg continue to take in the many reptiles that need their help, they display a inspiring example to communities around the world, not only to conservationists, but also to those that struggle with PTSD and similar related medical conditions.
