Georgia Sea Turtle Center Inspiring Young Students Towards Conservation Careers

The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is serious about securing the education of our upcoming generations on the importance of conservation work. Not only can local schools enjoy these opportunities, but students nationwide are able to travel and discover the fascinating world of sea turtles and the challenges they face on a daily basis. With a fully equipped and knowledgeable staff, the center offers a diverse assortment of educational programs designed for all ages. Katie Higgins, education coordinator, believes that without this valuable resource, many children will not experience nature firsthand, and that providing this opportunity is key to inspiring the next generation of conservationists. With a fully staffed on-site veterinary hospital, students are also able to observe the precision and skill necessary to care for these animals while on the road of rehabilitation. Based on the variety of activities offered at the center, the goal is to introduce the students to the many career options available in this field.
