New Blanding’s turtles Site Discovered
After decades of research, the Mersey Tobeatic Research Institute have found a fourth pocket of Blanding’s turtles in Nova Scotia. Before this discovery, only 3 populations of about 350 turtles were known. “We had a very credible sighting report and then we were able to follow up on that and found so many turtles – we have a lot of questions and we’re really just starting.” says biologist Jeffie McNeil.
