Crisis in the Philippines

This is a very, very urgent appeal for funds to help 4000 turtles confiscated by authorities in Palawan during the past couple of days. The vast majority of them, 3,800, are the endemic Philippine Forest Turtle (Siebenrockiella leytensis) which only exist in a small range at the northern end of Palawan. This number exceeds the current understanding of the existing wild population, and it will take years to comprehend the effects of this massive, highly coordinated poaching event.
The future of the Philippine Forest Turtle is hanging in the balance, or more appropriately, a warehouse in Palawan, and they need your support to help these turtles now! Read the full article here and if you have any spare cash then Please Donate Now!.
