Brampton turtle population study reveals ‘gem’ in Heart Lake wetlands
A new study looking at the population of freshwater turtles at Heart Lake Wetlands has revealed some surprising results! It may be a surprise, but Brampton, ON, Canada is home to a thriving population of freshwater turtles according to a wildlife biologist at York University.
The biologist, Marc Dupuis-Desormeaux, said: “We were pleasantly surprised, considering how much damage the population has suffered…it’s pretty much a gem in the Brampton landscape.”
