Loggerhead Marinelife Center In A Race Against Time With Hurricane Irma Hot On Their Heels
While thousands flee their homes in the calm before the storm, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is still tirelessly at work, in a race to secure their animals in need of urgent care. As hurricane Irma bears down on the state of Florida, the facility decided to evacuate all their sea turtle patients to the Georgia Aquarium on Thursday. Because of the fact that many of the patients are in critical condition, it was mandatory that they be transported to a safe location where they could be properly cared for until the hurricane has passed. This huge operation is a major expense for the marine center and they are welcoming all donations to assist with the process.
