Conservation Community Mourns The Loss Of Passionate Wildlife Advocate
The conservation community lost a hero this week who was an inspiration for us all. Tony Amos was a lifelong contributor at the Animal Rehabilitation Keep on the campus of the Marine Science Institute. After his retirement in 2003, the researcher continued his persistent and dedicated work at the Institute, rescuing marine wildlife and educating the public on the importance of conservation. Many people would call him their greatest mentor and his 36 years of passionate work is responsible for saving the lives of thousands of animals. After accepting the title of Port Aransas Region Coordinator of the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network, he tallied an astonishing 1,090 rescues of various marine wildlife.Tony Amos is a legend and his life as well as his accomplishments will never be forgotten. He will be sorely missed.
