Tortoises Confiscated On Madagascar
The Turtle Survival Alliance was called one more time to assist an illegal seizure on Madagascar. 771 Critically Endangered tortoises (Astrochelys radiata and Astrochelys yniphora) were confiscated on the island of Madagascar on September. Earlier this month, the TSA was called for the same purpose when officials confiscated 305 Astrochelys radiata. This is a total of more than 1000 Critically Endangered tortoises. These tortoises were brought to the TSA Tortoise Conservation Center in the region where they are receiving care and treatment as part of a program. Donation are being accepted to help with the cost of their rehabilitation and reintroduction
