Shell repairs

One lucky turtle has its shell repaired using the cable tie method and a Leopard tortoise has it’s final fitting for its 3-D printed shell, see the Turtle Repairs section. If you’re out and about on Virginia Beach, N.E.S.T have put up new signage to inform the public about sea turtles and how best to help them. A Hawksbill sea turtle released three yes ago is located 1000 miles from its release point; plus other stories about sea turtle festivals, releases and nesting, see the Conservation section. The hawksbill sea turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) is a critically endangered sea turtle. The have a wide range, found predominantly in tropical reefs of the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans. Of all the sea turtle species, E. imbricata is the one most associated with warm tropical waters. Two major subpopulations are acknowledged to exist, the Atlantic and Indo-Pacific subpopulations.
