First-ever footage of an underwater dive by a Leatherback Sea Turtle
Impressive footage, the first of its kind, of Dermochelys coriacea (Leatherback Sea Turtle) in an underwater dive was released recently. This footage, captured off the coast of Nova-Scotia, is a must-see. Maybe the coolest part of this video, is watching the turtle feed on jellyfish it finds during its travels. These researchers were left in awe by the footage, and so were we! We’ve also included a shorter clip of the footage from the Canadian Sea Turtle Network above. Read more about the research project and tracking data on their blog. Their are tons of great posts and neat stories in their blog. Well worth checking out.
