Flood trash could hamper turtle nesting

In less than two weeks, Olive Ridley turtles will start arriving on the shores of Chennai to nest -a ritual they have been following for the past 110 million years. However this year could be the most trying season for these reptiles as Chennai beaches are strewn with tonnes of garbage because of the recent floods. Charles Paddock Zoo unveils a new Turtle lab and plans to open a “Turtles in Trouble” exhibit in 2016, plus lots more in the Conservation section. Painted gopher toroise and tortoises stolen in the Crime & Punishment section.
