It’s that time of year

Cold stunned sea turtles have already started to arrive at resuce centres. As the sea temperature drops some of them become too cold to swim to warmer waters and are washed up to the shore. Hopefuly to be rescued and rehabilitated. Volunteers are tracking Murray River turtles (Emydura macquarii), West Japan rail company helps turtles that are becoming stuck on the rail tracks; and more in the Conservation section. The Murray River turtle (Emydura macquarii) they feed mostly on molluscs and crustaceans but will also consume carrion.
